no sense no space
Space, in fact, is an abstract word. It stimulates our immanent feeling while experiencing it. We actually cannot see or touch the so-called space, the emptiness, except we hit its boundary. However, we can “feel” it: We can see – air combines with others to alter visibility, e.g. smoke, light We can touch – temperature changes or air starts to move to stimulate our skin We can hear – air as medium for sound wave We can smell – air as medium for odor Spatial quality = air quality Photo above: 30 lux exhibition 2011,photographer: Virgile Simon Bertrand Reference: _ Mirko Zardini, sense of the city: an alternate approach to urbanism, 2005
